The Jamie's + 1

Five On Friday

Friday, February 28, 2014

Happy Friday all!!
I am linking up with Natasha at hello happiness for Five on Friday.
Here are my favorites this Friday!

One. My Daddy
My dad had a birthday on Tuesday.  I am so thankful for my daddy and I am truly a daddys girl.  He is also who Nicklas is named after.  We are lucky to have him in our lives.  Happy Birthday Daddy/Grandaddy.  We love you.

Two. Bloglovin'
As a new blogger I have been searching for things to make blogging easier.  Bloglovin' is the best thing I have found.  You can keep all your blogs in one place and choose when you want bloglovin' to let you know when your favorite blogs have been updated.  Bloglovin' puts blogs into different categories so it is easy to find blogs that you are interested in.  You can also add your own blog to bloglovin' so it is easy for other blog readers to find!  The Jamie's + 1 is on Bloglovin', you can follow me by clicking the "Follow me on Bloglovin', button on the right side of the blog!

Three. St. Patrick's Day
I love holidays, pretty much every holiday.  My husband hates this about me!  His family wasn't huge on celebrating things.  Well I celebrate EVERYTHING!!!  With that being said, the next holiday is St. Patrick's Day!!  I can't wait to dress my little man up in everything green!  Check back next week to see my favorite St. Patrick's Day gear for your little guy!

Four. Closet Sale
I am considering doing a closet sale.  I have LOTS of Express pants new with tags, some maternity dresses that were barley worn, shirt, tunics, sweaters, shoes of all kinds that have only been worn once, and some of Nicks baby and toddler clothing and shoes that are in great condition!  Please let me know if you would be interested in this.  I am only going to do it if there is enough interest!!  You can either email me privately @ or leave a comment on the blog to let me know!!

Five. Carl Edwards
There is no discussion needed for him.  Just look at the picture and take it all in!

Happy Friday All.

17 Month Favorite Things

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

I have not done one of these post in a while but really want to get better at it so I can remember or give advice to other mommy's who are as clueless as I am!

One. Boon Grass Counter top Bottle Drying Rack.
I wish I had found this much sooner than I did.  We got this when Nicklas was about 6 months old and we LOVE it!  It is dishwasher safe and much more attractive to look at than other drying racks.  You can also fit lots of things on it at one time which is more time efficient.  If you have company coming over and don't want all your 'baby' things around you can throw it in a cabinet because it is a 'normal' size. You can find this product here Boon Grass Counter Top Drying Rack

Two. My First Library Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Board Books
I love reading!  I pray that Nicklas enjoys it as much as I do.  To help him get interested in reading I knew that I had to find some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Books.  Nicklas LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I found these precious little books and Nicklas loves them.  You can find this product here My First Library Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Three. Samsung Video Baby Monitor
My sweet Nannan bought this for Jamie and I as a baby shower gift.  We can not live without it.  I can literally see Nicklas breathing!!  You can not hear anything from the monitor unless it detects a 'loud' noise and it will start vibrating if there is a continuous loud noise.  It even wakes my husband up when it starts vibrating (which as many of you other moms know is hard to do!).  You can find this product here Samsung Video Baby Monitor System

Four. Munchkin Bubble Spout Guard
We bought this when Nicklas quit using his baby bath tub and started taking 'real' baths.  Nicks nursery is decorated in elephants so when I saw and elephant spout guard I snatched it right up!  You can put bubble bath in the elephants trunk and it will slowly drip it into running water!  Nicklas loves to 'tickle' his elephant and talk to him during his bath!  You can find this product here Munchkin Bubble Spout Guard

Five. B. Wheeee Is
My aunt and cousins bought these for Nicklas for his first birthday and he loves them.  They are bright colors which catch Nicks eye.  They are chunky so it is easy for little hands to grab them, pull them back, and let them go.  Each toy also makes its own noise.  One rattles, one squeaks, one chimes, and one rings.  They are great.  You can find this product here B. Wheeee Is

Six.  Gerber Graduates for Toddler Animal Crackers
We have just found these.  They have a cinnamon flavor and they are smaller than normal animal crackers.  Nicklas is addicted!!  I am a huge fan of Gerber Graduates and Nicklas usually has one of their products as a snack daily!  You can find this product here Gerber Graduates for Toddler Animal Crackers

Back in a routine and a facelift.

Monday, February 24, 2014

So glad the 's' word is gone... you all know what I'm talking about... that sickening white cold stuff that falls from the sky and then the ice comes and your whole state shuts down for 3 days!
Hopefully we won't have anymore of the 's' word this winter.

We are back in a routine here at the Pruitt house.  Thank goodness.  I think Nicklas has inherited my OCDness because he thrives when on a schedule but when he is not on a schedule it is not good.  Like mommy like son.

Monday was my sweet cousin Kendyl's 17th Birthday!  We sent this picture to her early Monday morning to wish her a very Happy Birthday.  We love you Kendyl!

Monday night Nicklas and Jamie hung out and played for a little while.

Nicklas has started gravitating more to his daddy when he wants to play.  He comes to me when he is upset or tired!

On Tuesday night Jamie was invited to the NC State/Clemson Basketball game.

Nicklas and I tried to find daddy but after we saw the score we decided he was probably crying so we quit looking.

My daddy picked up Nicklas from 'school' on Tuesday since Jamie was already heading to Clemson.  We stayed and had dinner with my family and hung out with them for most of the evening.

We had a great time.  Nicklas and Brooke are wearing matching shirts that Grand daddy got them!  Thanks Dad, Mom, and Kellyn for dinner and for letting us hang out with yall!!

On the way home from my parents me and Nicklas listened to one of my all time favorite songs!!  Love me some Meatloaf!

This was my view on the way to work Wednesday morning.  It makes it very hard to get motivated in the morning....

Wednesday evening when we all made it home for the day it was in the low 70's outside.  Jamie decided to take Nicklas outside while I cooked dinner and started training him early.

Thursday evening Nicklas got bored while I was cooking dinner so he started looking for new 'clubhouse'.

On Friday Kellyn and Brooklyn came over and visited and had lunch with us!

I also had to use the time out chair for the first time on Friday because Nicklas hit his Aunt K.  The first time he did it I gave him a warning.  He did it a second time and I put him in time out.  He got up immediately so I sat him back down and then he stayed seated for about 30 seconds.  He came back into the kitchen and acted like a different child.  I call that success.

Kellyn and Brooke came back over on Saturday morning.  Jamie was hunting with friends.

Sunday morning we all woke up planning on going to church but Nicklas had a really bad runny nose and a low grade fever so Jamie went to church alone and me and Nicklas stayed home.

This pic was take right after I gave him some Motrin.  He just wasn't himself.

After about 30 min I guess the Motrin kicked in because he started playing some.

I mean doesn't everyone put their fire trucks in the laundry baskets.

We haven't really played much with puzzles yet mostly because I was afraid of losing all the pieces, yes I know OCD.  Anyway, last night I got out a puzzle that played noises made by Melissa and Doug that I would highly recommend.  It kept Nicklas entertained for about 45 minute and he started mocking the sounds of the animals!!  LOVE!!

Sunday evening the pastor of the church we have been visiting and his wife came by our house to visit.  I am so happy we started visiting this church.  Jamie and I feel as thought it is a perfect fit for our family and we both really want to get involved.  We are joining this Sunday and I am so, so excited.

Sunday night we were all tired of waiting for the NASCAR race to start.

I am very glad Nicklas and I fell asleep and didn't see the end of the race... and thats all I am going to say about that!!

I did my first chalk board art... not perfect but I'm proud of it!

I have been doing a face lift on my blog.  Please let me know what you think and if you visit often please become a member, all you have to have is a google account it will update you whenever I update the blog.  The tab is on the right hand side of the blog.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Five on Friday

Friday, February 21, 2014

This is my very first Five on Friday so I am very excited!!!  I have linked up with a blog I stalk love
Her name is Natasha and she is a mom of 2 sweet little girls!  LOVE her blog!
One. Nascar
Nascar season has started!!  I have to admit I am a HUGE Nascar fan.  I mean huge.  I joked at the end of football season that I finally had my husband back... well last night my husband said that at the end of Nascar season he would get his wife back! ha!  My driver of choice is Carl Edwards!  He makes me happy!  haha!!  Go #99!!
Two. Nice Weather
We have had some wonderful weather this week in SC.  For the past 3 days it has been in the low 70's when we get home from work!!  We took full advantage and grabbed all of our outside toys and headed outside!  Poor Nicklas... my husband is training him early!
Three. Low Carb Meals
As all of my three readers know I have been on a low carb 'diet' since the beginning of the year.  I have lost a total of 27 pounds!!  I am very excited to have found some recipes that my family enjoys which makes my 'diet' much easier!  Please let me know if you guys would like me to share some of those recipes!
Four. Dr. Seuss

I LOVE Dr. Seuss.  I mean my child's first birthday party was a Dr. Seuss theme.  I have decided to start collecting Dr. Seuss books.  I still have some that my sweet mom kept for me from my childhood.  My favorite has always been Go Dog Go.  If you ever want to buy me a great gift (hint, hint) get me a good Dr. Seuss book and I'll love you forever!!
Five. Time Out
We have started Time Out in the Pruitt household so I will take any excuse to buy Nicklas a new accessory!! I found a cute story on Etsy.
The price was AMAZING and shipping was very reasonable.  I ordered the chair on Saturday and my package arrived yesterday!  We have not had to use the Time Out chair yet but I'm sure the first time there will be many tears from Nicklas as well as myself!

I hope you all enjoyed my very first Five On Friday.  PLEASE comment and let me know what you think and I would truly appreciate some pointers on time out.  As a first time mom with a son who is truly testing me any advice would be very much appreciated!
Happy Friday all.

17 Months, snowmaggedon, and Valentines!

Monday, February 17, 2014

So when I left off we were stuck inside because of the snow storm.  Well it only got worse... Jamie was told not to come into work on Wednesday because of the snow.  Imagine if you will... a 17 month old, me, and Jamie all locked in the house... no where to go... yah that was fun!  Jamie also was told not to come into work until 1:00 pm on Thursday...  he was on stand by though.... I came very close to calling in an imaginary leak! HA!

At first Nicklas wouldn't walk in the snow but he got used to it!  He cried when we brought him inside!

There was one sweet little boy who loved having mommy and daddy home!

He also LOVED watching it snow outside.

On Thursday Feb. 13th Nicklas turned 17 months old.
Here is whats going on with him:
* Still in size 18 month clothes and 24 month pj's
* Just bought his first pair of size 5 shoes
* Still in size 4 diaper
* Goes to bed between 8 and 8:30 and wakes up about 6:30
* Talks all the time, I can't even keep up with everything he is saying
* Will give you a kiss if you ask for one
* Has just started blowing kisses
* Shakes hands and gives high five
* I smell his feet and wave my hand in front of my nose and say shewww, so now he smells mine and Jamies feet and does the same thing.
* Eats just about everything except peanut butter, we are waiting til age 2 to try b/c I was allergic as a child
* Loves TV, his favorites are Paw Patrol, Handy Mandy, Sheriff Callie, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and of course Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
* He sings the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song ALLL THE TIME!!!
* Freaks out if you leave a room or close a door on him.
* Still plays with our eye lashes while he is falling asleep.
* Loves to be read too.
* Has a temper and has started hitting.  We are doing time out for this and will see how it goes.
* Has started crying when we drop him off at day care, I have been told this is normal due to separation anxiety but it is killing me.
* Can open the gate from the kitchen to the living room that we use to keep our dogs in the kitchen and as soon as he comes in kitchen he goes straight for my tupper wear and throws it allll over.
* We have switched him from a high chair to a booster seat.

Such a big boy!

Friday was Valentines day.  I woke up to breakfast in bed and 2 sweet cards.

We decided it was best to take Nicklas to day care on Friday since he had already missed 3 days and they were having their school party on Friday.

I had lunch with this guy.

And since we were kid free we went to Target!  Ha!  I know... we are just oh so romantic.

Friday afternoon we had some surprise visitors who brought us Valentine goodies.

Thank you Ganna and Grand daddy!  Nicklas sent Ganna and Grand daddy home with a Valentine for his most favorite person and his sweet Valentine!

She called and told him thank you and that she loved him!!

For dinner on Valentines we ordered pizza and wore our Valentines pj's.

This weekend we hung out on the house on Saturday because Nicklas had a runny nose.  Saturday night we had to get out of the house so we went to Pizza Inn and then watched the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Sunday we went to the church we had been visiting again and loved it.  I think we are going to talk to the preacher some time this week about joining.  The rest of Sunday was spent napping, golfing in the house and watching UP while falling asleep.  It was great.  I must be honest, I am glad to be back and work and have the normal routine back.  I pray for no more snow!

Kellyn sent me a picture from the kids playing together last week that I have to share.

I could eat them both.

I hope everyone has a great week.
