We have had a pretty stressful week around our house.
We had our roof re-done right after Christmas.  My amazing parents gave us a gift card for Christmas to actually cover our total deductible so we were not too worried about the cost.  As the roofers were working they called Jamie and asked him to come look at something and then Jamie called and told me we were going to have to come up with an extra $400.00.  Remember, this is RIGHT after Christmas so we didn't have 'extra' money just laying around.  Jamie's parents had given us $100 and his sister gave us $60 so that helped also.  My parents knew what was going on and how much Jamie and I were stressing about it so they gave us an extra $100 also.  We were told that we would be receiving $140 so we were happy and quit worrying.  Jamie told me sometime last week that the person who told us they would be giving us the $140 had told him that they WOULD NOT be giving it to us.  I just started crying.  Let me also say that this $140 was supposed to be part of a Christmas present but oh well.  I guess they needed it more than we did.  Anyway, Jamie had a friend at work who asked him to help take off some scrap metal.  On Friday Jamie called me and told me he had made $150.  I could not believe it.  Only GOD could have done that.

Monday night it was in the 60's when I got home from work so I took Nick outside to play a little bit.

He would not get off the side walk... I actually had to pick him up and put him in the grass!! hahah!!

He just looked around... it was so funny!

On Tuesday night we went and had dinner with my parents.  My sweet sister made Meatloaf, it was wonderful!!

We don't keep soft drinks at my house so when Nicklas saw a Dr. Pepper can he decided to pour it over his head.  Good excuse for Nick and Brooke to take a bath.

After bath time Brooke wanted to watch a movie!

Is she not the prettiest thing you have ever seen?!

Mom and Kellyn wanted to play too.

I love them so!

On Wednesday night I decided to make a low carb Beef Enchilada Pie.

Nicklas and Jamie both approved.

On Wednesday I made low carb Chicken Chimichangas - they were great also - I forgot to take a pic though!

After dinner it was play time!
Peek a boo is always a favorite!

Hard to tell in this pic but Nicklas had his first Oreo - His face was actually COVERED in chocolate!

He also fell asleep on me again on Friday.  Love it!

Saturday morning we watching some cartoons - Nicklas still loves Mickey but Paw Patrol is now a close second.

Daddy went hunting Saturday morning.  My 2 boys in camo... sigh.... I believe there will be a lot of camo in my future.

Nicklas had his second hair cut on Saturday.  He did a great job.  Thank goodness for puzzles.

Nicklas also experienced his very first car wash.  He FREAKED!  Jamie actually got him out of his car seat and held him until it was over.  Bless.

My satellite radio has been playing some good songs on my morning drive to work recently!

Sunday morning Jamie and I decided it was time for us to start visiting new churches.  We want to be a part of a church that has lots of kids Nicks age and does a lot of things with the youth.  We visited Renfrew Baptist Church and LOVED it!  Nicklas didn't want to even come to us when we went to pick him up after church.  He was having so much fun with the other toddlers!  We will be visiting again next Sunday!

I am also happy to announce I have lost 20.4 pounds since Jan. 1st!!  I am so proud of myself.  19.6 to go... more than half way there!!

Hope everyone has a great week! :)

First of many I'm sure...... :(

Last Tuesday Jamie ended up having to work late so my wonderful daddy left work early (3 ish) and went and picked up Nicklas and dropped him off with Kellyn and Brooklyn and then my poor daddy went all the way back to work.  Thank you daddy.

Kellyn and Brooklyn were asleep when Nick got there so Kellyn got up and they had a conversation about him waking her up.

Kellyn : "Nicklas you messed up my nap"
Nicklas : "uh oh"
Nick then puts his hand in Kellyns popcorn and laughs!
I love my monkey.

Trying to get his ball while Kellyn was babysitting.
Thanks Kellyn for watching him!  Your awesome!

Jamie ended up working really late that night so Nicklas and I hung out with my family.

Nicklas loved playing in Brookes 'club house' so much that he tried to find one at our house.

Sorry buddy... I think you need to keep looking... I believe you have outgrown that 'club house'

One night last week around 7:30 Nick came and jumped up in my lap and snuggled up to me.  I thought he was just wanting some loving but he was being very, very quite.

He has not done this in months.... We sat there for a good hour so I could cherish the moment.

On Saturday I woke up and started sweeping, swiffering, vacuuming, doing dishes, doing laundry, dusting, etc... this is what Jamie did.

Thanks for the help honey! :)

Last night Nicklas was playing in his castle minding his own business.  All of a sudden we heard a boom and then him crying.

Nicklas had his first bloody nose.  He only cried for a little bit and his nose didn't bleed for long at all.  This is the first of many bloody noses I'm sure.

I am still doing my no carb diet.  I have lost 17.8 pounds and one pants size.

I'm very proud of myself!  I am also doing toning exercises and I can tell that is helping!!
23.2 more pounds to go!

Happy Monday!

16 months

Monday, January 13, 2014

Today Nicklas turned 16 months old... seriously... where did my baby go?
He is such a big boy now and soo independent... which I know is a good thing... bug it makes me sad!!

"Oh hey mom... you need something?"

16 months stats:

*Still wearing 18 month clothes and 24 month pj's.  We have some 18 month pj's mixed in and his poor little stomach hangs out of them... bless!

*Still in size 4 shoe and size 4 diaper.

*Goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 - on weekends wakes up between 7:30 or 8:00 and on weekdays we have to wake him up at 6:30.

*LOVES food.  Eats anything we give him.

*LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Dora - We say he has a crush on Dora!

*Separation anxiety has started.  If we are somewhere other than home and I am standing up, Nicklas CRIES for me to hold him... I mean seriously throws a fit.  I rarely drop him off at day care anymore because of this.  He does not cry when Jamie leaves him.. just me.

*Has only spent the night away from me one time.  Probably won't be happening again for a long time either.

*Jamie and I really don't leave Nicklas on weekends... we both work all week so we look forward to our weekends with Nicklas!!  Hey... he is only this age once and since we aren't having any more children we really want to savor our time with him!

*Nicklas talks up a storm. He says Hey, Bye, Uh Oh, Dog, Kitty Kitty, Momma, Dada, Grand Daddy, Bite, Night Night, Sassy, Eye (and points to his eye or your eye), No, Go, uh huh.

*At bed time while we are winding down Jamie and I will ask Nicklas crazy questions like " Do you love Daddy?" and Nicklas will go uh huh or no.  It is so funny!!  We crack up!

*When Nicklas hands you something he will make a noise that sounds like "here you go"

*Whenever you come in a room... even if you've only been gone for a minute... Nicklas will greet you with a big Hey and a smile!

*Nicklas LOVES music... If we are watching a show and he hears music he just stares and starts dancing!

*Will give me a kiss whenever I ask for one.

*Has started telling me when he is ready for a nap or bedtime by saying 'Night Night'

*When we go into the kitchen he will sneak around to the laundry room so he can play with Sassy and Toby!! He loves them soo much and he calls both of them Sassy!

*Has still only had water and milk.  When we are around Brooklyn he likes to drink our of her sippys!! Sneaky boy!

*Has the best personality!  He is so funny and will fake laugh at you if you are laughing!  He is so sweet!!  I am so blessed!

Nicklas and his best friend!!  They love each other soo much!

A look back at 2013 and what I have learned and hope to learn!

Honestly 2013 has by far been the best year of my life.

Jamie and I are in a really good place ( I have to be honest, our first year of marriage was VERY difficult ) but once we learned what was important and what isn't important things have been great!
Now, we communicate better and have the same goals in life.

We had Nicklas in 2012 but the first 3 months after having him were very hard for the obvious reasons.  Now we have a routine and he is so fun!  He has the best personalty.  I am so blessed to be his mommy!!

Also this year my parents moved 5 min. away from us!!  That is actually the best thing that happened in 2013 to me!!

I have a job that I LOVE!!  I work for a person who realizes family comes first and who treats me as an equal!  I also work with my best friends!!  I LOVE coming to work everyday!!

Here is a look back of some of my favorite pictures in 2013.
